Dr. Yuan uses both nature and psychotropic to treat the clients. She has senses of what medication works the best and always tries to choose the best treatment regimen for the clients. In the meantime, Dr. Yuan strives to prescribe the fewest medicines and the lowest doses as possible to achieve the desired benefit.
Dr. Yuan and her team has extensive training and experience in depression, anxiety, bipolar, grief and loss, trauma, family and marriage struggle, substance use, etc. They provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), mindfulness, acceptance and commitment Therapy (ACT), emotional focus therapy (EFT), motivational interviewing, play therapy, solution-focused therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), etc.
Mental illness diagnoses are tricky and challenging. Dr. Yuan, a board certified psychiatrist and a former internist and cardiologist, was previously trained by Dr. Nancy Andreasen, William Coryell and Susan K. Schultz who were involved in writing DSM III, DSM IV and DSM V (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, American Psychiatric Association). Dr. Yuan has solid skills and experience in accurately diagnosing the clients, which is one of the reasons her clients have achieved so much. She uses genesight testing when she needs it.
